MDaemon - Mail Server - BlackBerry BES Policies

The MDaemon® Messaging Server, BlackBerry® Edition, provides the tools needed to configure custom IT policies to control various aspects of BlackBerry device behavior. IT policies enable administrators to customize security and device settings for their BlackBerry users, including password length and age, maximum logon attempts, encryption settings, and much more.

Mail administrators can choose one of MDaemon's pre-defined IT policies or create their own custom policies. These policies cover various aspects of BlackBerry device security, including, but not limited to:

  • Specifying whether a device password is required, and assigning a minimum password length.
  • Setting a maximum security timeout, causing the device to lock after a period of inactivity.
  • Setting a designated number of invalid password attempts before the device is erased.
  • Entering a maximum password history to prevent re-use of recently used passwords.
  • Forcing the device to be security locked when placed in its holster.
  • Setting content protection strength and external file system encryption levels.
Features listed are available in MDaemon® Messaging Server, BlackBerry® Edition.
