MDaemon's webmail client, WorldClient, includes a SyncML compliant server that can be used to synchronize your calendar, contacts, and tasks with any SyncML compatible mobile device. The following instructions will take you step-by-step through the setup process on the MDaemon Email Server and on the BlackBerry® device using the free Funambol® SyncML client.
SyncML must be enabled in MDaemon in order to use the SyncML synchronization capabilities.
Verify that "Enable SyncML server" is checked.
If you would like to only enable SyncML for a specific domain, then you can select that domain in the "Select Domain" drop-down menu.
Download the installer using the web browser on your BlackBerry device.
Navigate to the folder containing the Funambol application.
In most cases, it will be located in the Downloads folder.
In the "Server Location" field, enter the address you use to access WorldClient, followed by /MDSyncML.dll.
For example: http://mail.domain.com:3000/MDSyncML.dll
Enter your full email address in the "Username" field, and then enter your password in the "Password" field.
Scroll down and enter the path to the Contacts, Calendar, and Tasks folders on the MDaemon server.
By default, they will be:
When synchronization is complete, you will then be able to view your calendar events, contacts, and tasks on your BlackBerry device.
* Duplicate entries may result if you have existing contacts on your BlackBerry device. To avoid duplicates, launch Funambol, then press the BlackBerry button and choose Reset. Select "Next" to continue, then select "From Server to BB." This will delete all contacts from the Blackberry and replace them with the contacts in WorldClient. However, going forward, changes made in either WorldCient or on the BlackBerry device will be synchronized.
Features listed are available in MDaemon Pro Email Server for Windows.
