  • Microsoft Windows XP/2003/Vista/2008/7 operating system (including 64-bit versions)
  • Pentium 4 2.4 GHz processor or higher (dual core processor recommended)
  • 1 GB of memory (2 GB recommended)
  • Typical Hard disk space required: 1 GB, additional space for any mail to be stored
  • Network Interface Card (NIC) TCP/IP network protocol installed
  • Internet or Intranet communication capabilities

Notes

  • System requirements for MDaemon without the BlackBerry Enterprise Server features enabled are available from the MDaemon Email Server for Windows' System Requirements page.
  • These are minimum requirements. Like all mail servers MDaemon® Messaging Server, BlackBerry® Edition is heavily I/O bound - performance can be dramatically improved with faster hard drives. This does not take into account running multiple programs simultaneously.

SecurityPlus for MDaemon*

  • MDaemon 9.5 or greater
  • The number of SecurityPlus user licenses must be equal to (or greater than) the number of user accounts in your MDaemon server. Attempts to use a lower SecurityPlus license size compared to the number of MDaemon users will cause SecurityPlus to cease functioning.

Outlook Connector for MDaemon*

Client Requirements

  • Microsoft Windows XP/2000/Vista/7 operating system
  • Pentium III 500 MHz processor or higher
    (Pentium 4 2.4 GHz or higher recommended)
  • Outlook 2002, 2003, 2007
  • TCP/IP network protocol installed
  • 256 MB of memory (512 MB recommended)
  • Disk space: 5MB for the installation of the Outlook Connector client. For performance and compatibility reasons Outlook Connector maintains a local cache - additional disk space will be required for these cache files which will grow with time. Our recommendation is to budget on 300MB per Outlook Connector enabled profile however this will vary depending on the size of the users MDaemon account.
  • Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher, or comparable browser
  • Internet or Intranet communication capabilities

 

Server Requirements

  • MDaemon Pro 8.0 or higher
    (MDaemon 9.0 or higher is recommended)

Notes

  • The latest Service Pack needs to be installed for all versions of Microsoft Outlook for Outlook Connector to run. Outlook 2000 also requires "Post-Service Pack 3 Hotfix Package July 3, 2003." This hotfix is available for download from Microsoft Support.
  • Current known issues with using Outlook Connector with Microsoft Outlook 2010:
    • The 64 bit version of Outlook 2010 is not supported
    • Show as Conversations in Outlook 2010 does not work
    • Compact prompt is displayed on first Outlook 2010 launch
    • "You must restart Outlook" prompt is displayed when creating an Outlook Connector profile in Outlook 2010
